Posters are the perfect way to advertise upcoming live entertainment, you want to draw in as big an audience as possible. Professionally designed advertising posters are the perfect solution. Often venues will have live entertainment on every week and need a quick and cost effective solution to advertise their upcoming acts.
Gary from Seth’s Bar got in touch to ask us if we could design a poster template to advertise live entertainment at Seth’s Bar. He wanted a contemporary, clean design which would catch the eye and clearly convey all the essential information. He asked us if we could set up a design template, so that he could give us the text details and a photo each week and we could simply update the poster.
We felt that the use of textured background paired with the ripped paper across the middle added a nice touch to the poster. We created a number of different typestyles, so that each element of the poster was clearly displayed. Each time a live entertainment act is hosted, Gary sends us the details, we update the template and produce the posters. Nice and easy! The perfect way to take the hassle out of designing your promotional posters!

We are always delighted to work with John Head, John Mather & the team for the Workington Beer Festival each year. It’s great that they give us free reign on the design and trust that Firpress will always deliver them an excellent design for their requirements. We created a new logo for the festival for this year, which will hopefully be established as the main logo for the event for many years to come. We incorporated a beer glass emblem with text and housed that within the shape of a beer pump clip. For the main poster design we used a mixture of textured backgrounds, with images and cut out photos to create an eye-catching base for the design. Working on top of this, we added all the essential information for the event. The poster needs to detail dates and times, but also information about the bands which are performing. Information should be clear and easy to read, as people may only glance at it for a few seconds.
John and the team loved the design, opting for A4 posters and also A5 leaflets to hand out to promote the event. Tickets for the event are available from the Carnegie or you can visit the Workington Beer Festival website.
Posters are the perfect way to advertise your upcoming event, fun day or festival. They should be bright, eye-catching and convey the message of what the event is about. After all, you’re not going to take a longer look at a poster that’s dull & boring are you?
Stuart asked us to design a poster to advertise his Family Fun Day, which was raising funds for the Asante Sana Foundation. The poster was to be bright, fun & bold. With a lot of information to display on the poster, we needed to ensure that all text was easy to read & laid out well.
When thinking about your poster design, it’s important to sit down and think through the important details you need to include. The event should have a name, something short & catchy perhaps but most importantly it should quickly convey the nature of the event. So when someone glances at the poster they understand instantly what is being advertised. Date, location and time are also essential. You want to highlight these quickly, people may only glance at first at your poster for a few seconds, so you need to instantly tell them: what it is, when it is, where it is. Next on the list would be what is on offer: do you have any music events or special events taking place? What can people look forward to on the day? If you have special activities in place for children highlight those. Fun days and events are very popular with families so always push your child friendly events. At the end of the poster, you should think about any sponsors you may need to mention, ticket prices, locations for tickets to be purchased from.
Stuart was delighted with the final design, opting for A3 and A4 prints and some A5 leaflets as well. We’re always happy to offer advice and guidance on the best way to design & lay out your promotional material. Our team of skilled designers will work with you to ensure your message is displayed in the most clear & coherent way.
